CALDERWOOD DENTAL PRACTICE COVID-19 UPDATE
Many of you may have seen on the news last week that dental practices are reopening on June 8th, however I must stress this is for English practices ONLY.
We continue to follow advice from the Scottish Government in regards reopening but at present we DO NOT have a date when we will reopen. However the Government recently published a plan detailing a phased approach to resuming dental care.
As per the recent guidance we have entered into Phase 1. This means General Dental Practices are still closed for face to face contact, and as previously should you have a dental emergency please contact the practice via 01355 221917 during usual opening hours Monday to Friday or NHS24 at evenings and weekends, and if appropriate you would be referred to a local dental hub for treatment. The hubs are now increasing the range of emergency treatments they can provide.
The progression through the phases of the plan to allow full reopening is dependant on how the country is coping in the fight against COIVD-19 and also the national supply levels of PPE required in order to protect staff and patients.
As soon as the Government deem it safe and appropriate for us to reopen we will inform patients, but rest assured that the team are busy planning how to give our patients the dental care they require in the safest and most effective manner when we are able too.
We appreciate all the support we have had during this extremely difficult time and look forward to seeing all out patients again as soon as possible.
Stay safe
Alex and all the team
