David graduated from Dundee University in 2009, and spent a year completing Vocational Training in Arbroath. On relocation back to Glasgow in 2010, he started as an associate in a practice in the West End of Glasgow but moved to join Alex, his wife, working at Calderwood Dental Practice when the bought the practice.
David has gained experience providing a wide range of dental treatments for his patients, while developing an interest in restorative dentistry and MID (Minimally Invasive Dentistry). This has led to further training in Anterior Alignment Orthodontics via a variety of systems, and he is adept at providing patient tailored solutions in order to give them the smile they want.
He sat and passed the MJDF examination in 2019 to gain additional qualifications and as a result is a member of the Royal College of Surgeons Glasgow.
For over 10 years now David has been restoring dental implants and is a member of the Association of Dental Implantology. His interest in this field has evolved with the appropriate intensive training into the placement of dental implants and more complex oral surgery cases here at Calderwood.
He regularly attends additional courses to develop and improve his range skills and provide greater standard of care to his patients. He tries to make the whole dental experience as relaxed as possible and his calming demeanour puts patients at ease before, during and after treatments.
Away from dentistry he is involved in refereeing rugby and loves spending time with Alex, and his daughters.
